kinplug is what happens when a Kintone consulting firm (Edamame Inc.) kept writing the same custom JavaScript over and over for clients, and finally decided to ship it as a product.
Kintone is a beautiful platform. But there are walls you hit in production: its PDF output isn't usable for anything you'd actually send a customer, its lookup modal gives up at a few hundred records, its mail plugins are dying as Google and Microsoft kill basic auth, and worst of all, most things calling themselves "Kintone plugins" are actually external SaaS products requiring a second portal login every time you configure anything.
We kept solving these problems in JavaScript, one client at a time. When we'd written the same code for the fifth project, we realized we should ship it as a product. Every plugin in kinplug is something we actually needed in production. Nothing is speculative.
kinplug is operated by Edamame Inc. (headquartered in Manila, Philippines, with a Tokyo liaison office). Edamame Inc. was incorporated in 2022 as a Kintone consulting business. Founder Tom Arai has been doing Kintone customization and plugin development since 2019. Kintone Global Partner of the Year 2024 recognition.
We run a deliberately small team. The engineer who wrote the plugin answers your support email. No tier-1 scripts, no ticket silos. Because we're small, customer feedback often ships the following week.
